"Spanish The
Story Way"!
We'll "work" our way through a music video curriculum so zany…you'll forget you're actually learning a language!
Spanish The Story Way is NOT "old school" language learning!
In fact, we are not inviting you to come study Spanish with us. We're asking you to come experience Spanish with us!
PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS — know this! You will NOT be wasting your time in our classes...
filling in endless conjugation charts
cramming huge lists of random vocab words into your heads never getting to actually speak Spanish out loud
Instead, we'll be delving into...
some of the craziest stories you'll ever come across, set to music videos that you'll never forget
starring characters who will become part of your lives.
Why STSW?
The Method to the Madness!
Why Wooly?
Our core curriculum is built around the world-renowned Señor Wooly platform — a collection of over 30 brilliantly-designed Spanish music videos created specifically for Spanish students. Most of these videos are only available to teachers like Miss Elisa who purchase an annual license, which also unlocks thousands of online activities for each student enrolled in their classes.
STSW students experience these videos together via Google Meet during live classes, with Miss Elisa leading the way. Then, the real fun begins!
Countless group activities pull the language from the videos into real-world scenarios for valuable practice using all 4 of the main language-learning skills:
writing
listening
reading
speaking

Miss Elisa
...from the comfort of
your own home!
Miss Elisa (a.k.a., Elisa Angela Arbogast) had the
privilege of assisting the legendary Señor Wooly
(a.k.a., Jim Wooldridge) with his curriculum booth
at a 2019 conference. Jim was kind enough to post
that shout-out in his massive social media teachers'
group with over 10,000 members.
Miss Elisa spent almost 10 years as a Señor Wooly
"super user" for her brick-and-mortar Spanish classes
before transitioning to online education.
Many of Miss Elisa's students have been almost fanatical
in their passion for singing the songs and untangling the
cryptic stories behind the Señor Wooly music videos and
digital graphic novels (also available to Miss Elisa's students under the Señor Wooly license).
Why Stories + Songs Work
Language researchers agree: Comprehensible input and emotional engagement are the fastest paths to real fluency. So, why not use a curriculum that's built around both?!
Here is a sampling of the 30+ Señor Wooly videos that we are licensed to use,
along with thousands of supplemental online activities and digital worksheets.

All sessions take place on Google Meet. You will receive a personal invite for your time slot. Just open the link in your inbox to enter your story-driven Spanish learning space.
Student Account Walkthrough Video
Now that you’ve gotten a taste of Señor Wooly's stories and music, here’s a peek at what the actual student dashboard looks like. This is what students use during the week, in between the live sessions, to lock in what they're learning. You'll see how to navigate through the videos and their corresponding interactive activities, called "Nuggets," as well as how to access Wooly's amazing digital graphic novels (based off the music videos) which include audio and many interactive tools.
IMPORTANT TO NOTE: As wonderful as this online Sr. Wooly material is,
Jim Wooldridge himself asserts that a large part of the language-learning
progress occurs as students discuss the music videos as a class & engage
in corresponding activities together.
Languages are NOT best learned in isolation but rather in community.
