Student & Parent Access Guide

Everything a student needs lives in tools they already use. There is no separate dashboard and no extra login to remember. This guide explains where each thing lives and how to get to it.

The four tools

What students use

🎤

Señor Wooly

Asynchronous assignments — the music videos, readings, and interactive activities students work through between classes.

💻

Google Meet

Live class sessions. Students join with the recurring invite link emailed after enrollment.

📁

Google Drive

Individual written work, kept in a private folder shared only with that student.

🖊

MeritHub boards

Collaborative in-class activities. Links are shared during class and boards save automatically — no setup needed.

Accessing your Google Drive folder

Each student receives a private Google Drive folder shared only with them, and optionally with a parent. It holds weekly writing documents, reading responses, individual Google Forms, and any personalized materials.

  1. Check your email for a Google Drive share notification.
  2. Click the link to open your folder.
  3. Add the folder to your Starred section so it is easy to find again.
  4. Complete assignments directly inside your folder.

Cohort materials and temporary editing

Cohort‑wide documents are view‑only. You will see them during class when your teacher shares the screen, and you will not type in them outside of class.

During live sessions your teacher may temporarily grant editing access to a shared document so that you can take part in collaborative writing, group activities, and supervised tasks. After class, editing access is removed to protect student privacy and keep documents intact.

Technology requirements

  • A stable internet connection
  • A device capable of running Google Meet — a laptop or tablet is best
  • Access to your Google Drive account
  • Optional: headphones, for clearer audio

Parent access policy

Parents may request access to their own child’s private Google Drive folder and will receive viewer‑only permissions.

Parents do not receive access to:

  • Cohort-wide documents
  • Other students’ folders
  • Collaborative in-class documents
  • MeritHub boards

This protects student privacy, prevents accidental exposure of other families’ work, and keeps the learning environment safe for everyone. The full consent language is on the Enrollment Agreement page.
