A gentle, story‑driven introduction to Spanish — perfect for beginners, anxious learners, and anyone who wants Spanish to finally make sense.

Don Pérez ve el mundo is an original story by Miss Elisa about a very sleepy sloth with a very big dream. It is short, funny, and immediately usable — and it shows exactly how Spanish The Story Way teaches: through characters, emotion, visuals, and repetition that feels natural.

The sloth behind the story

The character Don Pérez was inspired by a sloth Miss Elisa met in Costa Rica in 2017. She is now the proud sponsor of a tagged sloth named Pistachio in the Limón region of Costa Rica, where Miss Elisa served at an orphanage for two weeks many years ago.

A complete beginner story

Three pages of readable Spanish built from high-frequency verbs and everyday vocabulary, written so a true beginner can follow the plot. Yet, there’s plenty of “stretch” here for an intermediate learner.

Ten comprehension questions

Either/or questions in Spanish that let a learner prove to themselves how much they already understood, plus a complete glossary (to help with the rest).

A bonus lesson

Miss Elisa explains how verbs work in Spanish (since we do need some discussion about grammar. But grammar is just a set of rules; you don’t learn a language by simply studying grammar.

No flood of worksheets and grammar charts. Just real Spanish your brain can understand.
